Trainers

None, available from the start. Some trainers require gold, quests or guild membership.

Strength determines melee damage and is required to wield better weapons. Melee damage is calculated as weapon damage + strength - enemy armor. Higher strength means more damage per hit and access to the best one-handed and two-handed weapons in the game. LP cost scales in thresholds: 1 LP/point up to 29, 2 LP from 30-59, 3 LP from 60-89, 4 LP from 90-119, 5 LP from 120+. Tip: always train just before a threshold (e.g. to 29, then to 59) to save LP. Save permanent bonuses like potions, apples and stone tablets for later when LP costs are high (60+ strength). Remove strength rings and belts before training to avoid crossing thresholds early.

How to Learn

Visit strength trainers to increase your strength in increments. Each trainer has a maximum value they can teach. Lares and Mortis are available early (up to 60) but limited. Carl in the harbour district trains up to 120 (50 gold or free if you bring the Innos statue to Edda). For the highest values: Bennet and Torlof train up to 200 (Chapter 6), Erol and Ingmar also reach 200 but require quests or guild membership.
