Harad

Harad is the blacksmith of the city of Khorinis, a gruff but highly respected master craftsman with a smithy in the artisan quarter. As a former soldier in the orc wars, he demands proof of combat ability from every aspiring apprentice – preferably the weapon of a slain orc, or alternatively the elimination of the bandits who ambushed the weapon merchant Hakon. When the paladins arrived in Khorinis, Harad received an order for 100 swords from Lord Hagen to equip the city guard and has been working day and night ever since. During this time, he was unable to supply weapons to the marketplace merchants. After completing the order, he even forges ore blades for paladins willing to pay – light, virtually indestructible weapons that reveal their true power after being consecrated to Innos. He teaches his apprentices how to forge simple swords, pays per blade, and offers them a sleeping place in his house. His apprentice Brian is nearing the end of his training and plans to leave the city.
