Lares

Lares is one of the greatest thieves in Myrtana and a man who always pulls strings from the shadows. During the time of the Barrier, he led the bandits of the New Camp as Lee's right-hand man – organizing raids on Old Camp convoys and distributing the spoils among his men. After the fall of the Barrier, he followed Lee to Khorinis and took up a post in the harbor district, officially to ensure the Esmeralda doesn't sail without Lee's mercenaries. In secret, he is a high-ranking member of the Ring of Water, watching the harbor for the Water Mages since many missing citizens were last seen there. Lares is the hero's first point of contact on Khorinis: he explains the island's power dynamics, establishes contact with the Water Mage Vatras, helps search for the Builders' ornaments, and can pave the hero's way to the mercenaries, the militia, or the Fire Mages. He accompanies the hero to the Water Mages' excavation site and later to Irdorath. Upon reaching the mainland, he made a name for himself with spectacular heists and resurfaced in Geldern, where he was hired by an assassin to steal the shamans' golden plates.
