The first circle of magic is the entry gate to runecasting. Learning it unlocks Circle-1 runes: Light, Heal Light Wounds, Fire Arrow, Summon Goblin Skeleton. Circle 1 is accessible to every mage path - the Fire Mages at the Old Camp, the Novices of the Brotherhood and (once the hero takes the water robe) the Water Mages. Cost: 10 LP. Trainers: Corristo at the Old Camp for Fire Mages (Chapters 2-3), Baal Cadar at the Swamp Camp for Novices and Templars (requires putting one of his students to sleep first, Chapter 1-6), and Saturas at the New Camp for Water Mages (Chapter 4-5).
