Saturas is the supreme Water Mage and head of the order, one of the twelve mages who raised the Barrier under Xardas's lead and were caught inside it when the ritual went wrong. For years he studied in the castle of the Old Camp, until Gomez and the Fire Mages chose comfort over breaking the Barrier - at which point he walked out with Lee and founded the New Camp around the ore pile that might one day power the blast. He admits proven mercenaries and fire mages into the Circle of Water, trains up to the fifth circle of magic and hands out robes of water rank by rank, and he is the one who sends the hero after the five focus stones, the Almanach of the Possessed and, as a final desperation, to Xardas's tower for the demon-summoner's help. When Milten charges Uriziel at his ore pile without asking, Saturas's fury nearly boils over, but the hero teleports clear before it catches.
