Milten is a Fire Mage of the Old Camp and disciple of Corristo, one of the four friends who met in the Khorinis prison with Diego, Gorn and Lester before all four were thrown through the Barrier. Originally a deserter from King Rhobar II's army, caught stealing an apple, he rose from digger to Shadow, earned Corristo's attention with a favour for the ore barons and was taken on as apprentice mage. The collapsed tower of the castle traces back to him: during an ore-theft run with Diego to save Gorn from Brabak, Drago's impatient fire-bolt detonated a dropped sack of ore and dropped the tower, after which he can no longer show his face at the Fire Mages' quarters. He stands guard at the temple hall when the hero arrives and forwards Xardas' letter to Corristo; later he meets the hero at an ancient stonehenge in the wilderness to raid the crypt below together, taking an orcish talisman while the hero claims a focus stone. When the Old Mine collapses and the Fire Mages are cut down, Milten survives only because he is away at the stonehenge, warns the hero at the sealed camp, and later at the New Camp helps charge the sword Uriziel at the Water Mages' ore pile.
