Baal Cadar is one of the gurus of the Brotherhood of the Sleeper and the magic teacher of the Swamp Camp. He gathers the novices around him for meditation and trains every seeker willing to walk the Sleeper's path in the first four circles of magic plus the discipline of mana. He also trades in magical miscellany - scrolls, runes, small arcane trinkets. In the novice-admission process his voice carries weight: the hero wins him over by putting one of Cadar's students to sleep with a scroll on the spot, which Cadar takes as proof of a gifted pupil rather than an insult.
