Speak to Diego and Thorus about joining the Old Camp. Come back to Diego and ask what the Trial of Trust is. He explains the list and gives the errand.

Never skip the dialogue option "Why would Ian give me the list?" - Diego tells the hero to just say Diego sent him.

Ask Diego where the Old Mine is. He sends the hero to Graham for a map. Graham asks 20 ore for it; threatening a beating gets the map for free.

Head to the Old Mine. Work down a few galleries to the central desk where Ian stands. Tell him Diego sent the hero and take the supply list.

Now choose:
5a. Old-Camp route: return the list unchanged to Diego. He signs off and the Aufnahme Altes Lager vote locks in.
5b. New-Camp route: carry the list to Lares at the New Camp first. Lares doctors the numbers and hands it back; carrying the doctored list back to Diego still satisfies the Trial, with more XP and better items down both tracks - but commits the hero to the New Camp for Aufnahme Neues Lager.

The Trial of Trust is Diego's test for anyone who wants into the Old Camp properly: retrieve Ian's supply list out of the deep Old Mine and bring it back. The catch is that the list is a fork in the road. Hand it back to Diego untouched and the Old Camp admission moves forward; carry it to Lares at the New Camp first and the bandits will doctor it with false numbers, which sabotages the Old Camp convoy and unlocks Aufnahme Neues Lager at the cost of Diego's full trust.
