A Pan for Hilda
After bringing the turnips to Hilda (quest 'Bring the Turnips to Hilda'), she asks the hero to buy a Pan from the traveling merchant. She provides the gold for the purchase. The hero must deliver the pan quickly - waiting too long reduces the reward, and failing to deliver means paying back the gold. Tip: Wearing farmer clothes when buying from Canthar avoids having to do 'Canthar's Favor' later.

Walkthrough
After completing 'Bring the Turnips to Hilda', Hilda gives you gold to buy a Pan from the traveling merchant.
Go past Lobart, down the path to the merchant Canthar. Buy the Pan from him.
Bring the Pan back to Hilda on the same day (50 XP). If you wait one day, you only get 25 XP because Hilda is annoyed. After another day without delivery, you must return the gold and get no XP. If you keep the gold, Hilda calls you a thief and refuses to speak to you.
Tip: Take the farmer clothes from Lobart's chest, put them on, then buy from Canthar. This way he thinks you are a farmhand and you avoid the quest 'Canthar's Favor' later.
