    At the rice fields outside the New Camp speak with Horatio and ask whether he can teach the hero to hit harder. He refuses until given a reason.

    Go to the tavern on the dam and find Jeremiah in the back room. Ask him about Horatio; he mentions Horatio's feud with the Rice Lord.

    Return to Horatio. Tell him the reason is revenge against the Rice Lord on his behalf. He teaches the strength-punch: +5 Strength permanent. Quest gives 0 XP - the attribute bonus is the whole reward.

    Important: the +5 applies before a cap check. Redeem the bonus at 95 Strength or less. At 96-99 the bonus only fills up to 100; at exactly 100 nothing changes; above 100 the Strength gets rounded DOWN to 100 and loses any permanent bonuses past it.

The farmer Horatio knows the strength-punch from his former life as a smith, but he swore off attacking the living after a tavern brawl once killed a man. He will teach the technique only to someone who promises to use it against the Rice Lord and his enforcers. The schnapps-brewer Jeremiah in the tavern back room is the one who lets the grudge slip. The reward is a permanent +5 Strength point - but the game's strength cap rounds aggressively above 95, and the bonus should be cashed in before that threshold.
