Baal Parvez is a missionary of the Brotherhood of the Sleeper stationed at the marketplace in the Old Camp outer ring, where he and Baal Taran spread the faith to newcomers and escort converts to the Swamp Camp. His pitch emphasises the privileges of the Brotherhood: independence from mine labour, the gift of psionic magic for the chosen few, and the prestige of becoming a Templar. During the quest Joining the Swamp Camp he personally leads the Nameless Hero through the swamps to the temple gate, telling him to speak to Cor Kalom on arrival. Parvez is a proven fighter - a Light Novice Robe and Steel Tongue club - and dies in the outer-ring riots after the guards murder the Fire Mages.
