Matteo and Gritta
To earn Matteo's approval for the quest 'Apprentice in Khorinis', the hero must recover 100 gold that Gritta owes him. Gritta lives in Thorben's house. There are three ways to get the gold: pay it yourself, threaten Gritta, or knock her out and take it. Afterwards, talking to Thorben about the debt unlocks lockpicking training from him.

Walkthrough
Talk to Matteo in the Lower Quarter and exhaust all dialogue options. He offers to help you reach the Upper Quarter but needs 100 gold that Gritta owes him.
Go to Gritta in Thorben's house. She refuses to pay. Three options:
**Option A: Pay yourself**
Tell Gritta you will pay the 100 gold yourself. Bring 100 gold to Matteo (100 XP). Return to Gritta for an additional 50 XP.
**Option B: Threaten her**
Threaten to take her dress. She hands over the 100 gold. Bring them to Matteo (100 XP).
**Option C: Take by force**
Talk to Thorben about Gritta's debt first. Then knock Gritta out when no one is watching and take the 100 gold. Bring them to Matteo (100 XP).
After completing the quest, talk to Thorben to unlock lockpicking training (costs 200 or 100 gold).
