Evidence
After reaching Lord Hagen in the Upper Quarter and warning him about the dragons in the Valley of Mines, the paladin commander remains skeptical. The old scriptures say it has been centuries since the last dragon sighting, and he refuses to commit more men without proof. He tasks the hero with crossing the pass to the Valley of Mines, finding the paladin expedition, and speaking with its commander Garond at the Castle. Lord Hagen hands over the Pass Gate Key to unlock the gate at the pass, but warns that the hero must fight through orc territory to get there. If the hero can bring back proof of the dragons' existence, Lord Hagen promises to grant access to the Eye of Innos - the divine artifact mentioned in the ancient prophecies in connection with dragons. This quest is part of the main quest 'The Eye of Innos'.
Rewards
500 XP (from Garond for delivering mining reports). Pass Gate Key, Authorization for Pyrokar, and Teleport to Harbour City rune from Lord Hagen. Grants access to the Eye of Innos.
Walkthrough
Lord Hagen gives you the Pass Gate Key. Travel to the pass at the end of the Pasture Plateau beyond Bengar's Farm. Fight through the orcs guarding the pass and enter the Valley of Mines.
Make your way to the Castle and find Garond. He needs information from his three mining teams before he can write a report for Lord Hagen. Complete the quest 'Miners and Ore' by visiting all three mining camps and reporting back to Garond.
Once you have delivered the information, Garond gives you the Letter to Lord Hagen confirming the dragon threat (500 XP).
Return to Lord Hagen in the Upper Quarter and present Garond's letter. He acknowledges the truth and honours his promise: he gives you the Authorization for Pyrokar, which grants you access to the Monastery of Fire and the Eye of Innos. He also gives you a Teleport to Harbour City rune as thanks.
Take the authorization to Pyrokar at the Monastery of Fire to continue the main quest 'The Eye of Innos'.
