Lord Hagen

Lord Hagen is a paladin of the king and supreme commander of the expedition sent to Khorinis to secure magical ore for the war against the orcs. In the city's Upper Quarter, he assumed the role of governor – an office he can fill but dislikes as a soldier. He dispatched Commander Garond with an expedition to the Valley of Mines and governs the city with an iron hand: martial law, heightened security, and the reinforcement of the militia under Lord Andre are his response to the threats. Skeptical of reports about dragons in the Valley of Mines, he demands solid proof from the hero before granting access to the Eye of Innos. He personally oversees the investigation into the murder of the paladin Lothar and acquits Bennet after the hero presents Cornelius' diary as evidence. When the orc elite warriors leave their palisades, he tasks the hero with killing their leaders and bringing back their rings. After the dragons are slain, he plans to march all remaining troops into the Valley of Mines to rescue Garond's besieged expedition – though whether he succeeds remains unknown.
