Valley of Khorinis
The Valley of Khorinis stretches across the western part of the island of the same name in the Myrtanian Sea and is home to most of its inhabitants. On the west coast lies the port city of Khorinis, the island's capital, divided into the Upper Quarter, the Lower Quarter, the Harbor District, and the Barracks. Five farms supply the island: the powerful estate of the landowner Onar in the east, the tenant farms of Bengar and Sekob, and the city-adjacent farms of Akil and Lobart. In the heart of the valley, the Dead Harpy Tavern offers travelers rest, and to the north the Monastery of the Fire Mages perches between mountains above a lake. Dense forests harbor wolves, wargs, shadowrunners, and trolls, while scavengers, snappers, and lurkers prowl the plains. Scattered across the island are stone circles of a long-lost civilization, including the sacred Sun Circle, the ancient ruins in the northeast concealing the passage to Jharkendar, and the recently appeared tower of the necromancer Xardas in the mountains. To the south, the pass behind Bengar's farm leads to the Valley of Mines. Shrines dedicated to the three gods Innos, Adanos, and Beliar can be found throughout the valley. Since the fall of the Barrier and the orc war, monsters pour from the Valley of Mines, bandits lurk in the mountains, and the mysterious Seekers roam the land.
