Stone

Stone is the smith of the castle, the best in the Old Camp, who handles the guards' armour issue while Skip runs the weapons side - and whose craft quietly extends to rings, amulets and other magical work when the need arises. After the Fire Mages are murdered, Gomez accuses him of collaborating with them and throws him into the castle dungeon, keeping the only key on his own belt; only the smith's reputation spares him the same fate as the mages. When the hero finally settles the account with Gomez and frees Stone from the cells, he repays the debt in steel: the hero's ore armour can be reinforced, a ring of vitality, a ring of protection or a mana-amulet forged - one piece, his choice, and the debt is squared.
