Rufus

Rufus is one of the rice farmers on the Rice Lord's fields at the New Camp. On his first day in the Colony Lefty came by and asked if he could lend a hand on the paddies for just an hour. He said yes. The next morning Lefty was at his door again, then again, until Rufus stopped waiting and walked to the fields by himself - easier than getting dragged there by the collar. He spends every day bent over the rice stalks, hears nothing of what happens in the camp and would love to tell the Rice Lord off to his face, but the enforcers at his back keep him silent. One of the farmers the hero supplies on Lefty's water round.
