Innos

Innos is the god of fire, light, law and justice, and the first god in Gothic cosmology. He created the sun and the light out of himself, and when his own light proved too bright for mortal life to emerge he split off his brother Beliar - the embodiment of night - so that day and night could alternate and living things could exist between them. That act of creation was also the seed of the war of the gods: Beliar's pain at the light turned into hatred, and only when Adanos stepped between them did the world itself come into being at the place where he stood. Inside the Barrier of Khorinis, Innos has his concrete face in the Circle of Fire at the Old Camp - Corristo, Milten and their novices pray to him, cast fire magic in his name and keep the mages' quarters lit against the pull of the thing sleeping under the mountain. The Brotherhood's eventual discovery - that their "Sleeper" is no god at all but an arch-demon of the opposite side - is ultimately the discovery that Innos and his antithesis Beliar are the real poles of the war the Colony has accidentally stepped into.
