Beliar
Beliar is the god of night, of death and of destruction - the shadow Innos split off so that day and night could alternate and life could exist. The split left him in pain from his brother's light; that pain turned into the hatred that set the war of the gods in motion. He gave the world the dark, he gave it dying, and he gave his followers black magic - the summoning of demons and the undead, the highest form of worship he accepts. His servants are many: dragons, lizardmen, orcs, demons, undead, corrupted paladins, and above all the arch-demons who carry his power directly into the world. Inside the Barrier of Khorinis it is Beliar's avatar who is sleeping beneath the orc city - the Krushak that the orc shamans once called, the "Sleeper" that the Brotherhood mistakes for its god of freedom. Xardas' entire strategy - proposing the Barrier, retreating to his tower, studying demonology in the orc lands - turns on the fact that the real prize is not the ore but Beliar's interest in it. The arch-demon's banishing is only the first blow; the god behind him remains.
