Fletcher

Fletcher is a guardsman of the Old Camp who would rather sit at the castle's great fire with a beer than patrol anywhere. After Nek's disappearance Thorus assigns him the arena district in the outer ring, a posting he openly resents and the diggers openly ridicule. He carries a hefty debt to Scatty that he can barely service, because Nek had squeezed the district dry of protection money shortly before vanishing; only the hero's confirmation of Nek's death forces him to take the job seriously. Once the Old Mine collapses and the camp seals its gates, Fletcher is moved to the north gate, where he greets any former Shadow, Fire Mage or newcomer as a traitor and attacks on sight.
