Baal Tondral is the fanatical preacher of the Brotherhood of the Sleeper and the guru who hunts for new souls. He reads the hero at a glance the first time they cross paths in the Swamp Camp and launches into the sermon he keeps ready - the ore barons' lies, the fire in every true seeker, the freedom the Sleeper will bring when the unbelievers are washed away. He also decides who is ready to wear the novice robe. To win his vote the hero must prove loyalty by bringing in a fresh recruit for the Brotherhood; Tondral sends him to the Old Camp to find men tired of the camp life and convinces Dusty in particular to come.
