Randolph

Randolph is a farmhand at Akil's farm, originally from the Southern Islands. He came to Khorinis to work in the ore mines, but the Barrier was already up when he arrived – understandably, he didn't want to enter. He worked as a dockworker until no more ships came, then found employment at Akil's farm. Randolph has a serious drinking problem and regularly competed in the drinking contest "Empty the Mug in One Slug" at Orlan's tavern against the cheat Rukhar – losing every time because Rukhar laced his beer with juniper spirits. Only when the hero swapped the liquor for water did Randolph finally win. Afterwards, he needed a sobering potion from the herbalist Sagitta. When he quit drinking, severe withdrawal symptoms set in that could only be relieved by an expensive remedy from Sagitta. He later fell under the influence of the Seekers but blamed the feeling on the booze.
