Pedro

Pedro was a novice at the Monastery of the Fire Mages who served as gatekeeper, welcoming visitors and admitting aspiring novices. He explained the monastery's rules and life, and upon receiving the required gifts – 1,000 gold pieces and a sheep – handed over the novice robe and monastery key. But Pedro was enchanted by the Seekers and driven to steal the Eye of Innos – the greatest betrayal the monastery had ever known. Several novices died during the pursuit. The Seekers destroyed the Eye at the Sun Circle, but rather than rewarding Pedro, they dragged him to Irdorath, where an orc colonel interrogated and tortured him for days. The hero eventually found him in a cell on Irdorath. Pedro begged for his life and offered valuable information in return: the location of the secret passage in the colonel's throne room leading deep into the mountain. His ultimate fate remains uncertain – Archmage Serpentes had secretly ordered his assassination.
