Maria

Maria is Onar's wife and Elena's mother. She is a strong-willed woman who knows exactly what she can achieve – and is not entirely innocent in her husband's decision to break away from the city. When the militia regularly plundered the farm, carted off the harvest, and took sheep, she told him: "Do something!" – after which Onar hired the mercenaries. A militia soldier even stole her golden wedding plate, which the hero can eventually recover. Maria also makes sure the mercenaries are properly paid – anyone who does her a favor gets better compensation from the landowner. While she feels safer since the mercenaries arrived, the constant commotion gets on her nerves.
