Marduk

Marduk is a Fire Mage at the Monastery of Khorinis who, despite his order, is a master of ice and thunder magic. His primary duty is preparing knights and paladins for battle against evil and instructing them in the ancient art of the Sword Consecration – one of the holiest paladin rituals, in which Innos' divine power flows through the ore blade and grants the sword tremendous power. This requires the paladin to pray in the chapel with an ore blade and make a donation of at least 5,000 gold pieces. Marduk is a devout man who sees Beliar as the incarnation of evil and reminds every novice to pray for the welfare of Innos' warriors. He teaches Fire Mages the runes of Lightning, Ice Arrow, Ice Block, Ball Lightning, Lightning Strike, and Ice Wave. In light of events – the theft of the Eye of Innos by the traitor Pedro and the murder of the paladin Lothar – he is deeply concerned that betrayal and greed may be their greatest enemies.
