Igaraz

Igaraz is an arrogant and pragmatic novice at the Monastery of the Fire Mages who is certain he will one day be chosen to become a mage. At the monastery, he stole compromising documents from the shy novice Babo and blackmailed him: Babo was to secretly grow swampweed in the monastery garden, since the price had tripled in the city after the fall of the Barrier. The hero could resolve the situation by recovering the documents from Igaraz's locked chest – either by purchasing them for 300 gold pieces or by other means. Igaraz was indeed chosen for the Test of Magic, but his overconfidence caught up with him: he wasted time searching the farms and ultimately attacked the hero to steal his findings. He didn't die during the search itself, but he never returned to the monastery either.
