Hyglas

Hyglas is a Fire Mage at the Monastery of Khorinis, the Keeper of Fire and Preserver of Knowledge. He specializes in fire magic and creates runes that hold the power of Innos. He usually studies in the monastery's library. He was the first to notice the rare stellar constellation where the sign of the Ox aligns with the sign of the Warrior – a configuration that weakens the barrier between worlds and makes it easier for demons to break through. To learn more, he asked the hero to find the book "The Divine Power of the Stars" in the city. During the Trial of Fire, he teaches the hero the formula for creating a Fire Arrow rune – though only after all raw materials have been gathered. He instructs Fire Mages in the most powerful fire spells, from Fireball through Fire Storm to Rain of Fire. It was also Hyglas who caught the novice Dyrian stealing a book and reported the matter to the High Council.
