Gorax

Gorax is a Fire Mage at the Monastery of Khorinis who plays a central role in monastery life as cellarer, steward, and treasurer. He oversees wine production and sales of the renowned monastery wine, manages the supplies, and guards the monastery treasure. New novices pay their offering of 1,000 gold pieces for Innos through him. He assigns novices practical tasks – from fairly distributing sheep sausages to the other novices to delivering wine to Orlan's tavern, warning them not to let the innkeeper shortchange them. Novices who need provisions beyond their rations can purchase them from him. Gorax assigns new novices their sleeping quarters and makes clear that the mages' dormitories and the library are off limits. In delicate situations, he also acts on behalf of the archmages – relaying a top-secret order from Archmage Serpentes to mercenaries to kill the traitor Pedro.
