The Dead Harpy Tavern sits halfway between the city of Khorinis and Onar's Farm, making it a popular stop for travelers and farmers thanks to its central location. The innkeeper Orlan offers food, drink, various goods, and rooms for the night – at 50 gold pieces per week, though paladins, mages, and members of the Ring of Water stay free of charge. The tavern receives its quality wine directly from the Monastery of the Fire Mages. From time to time, the regular Rukhar hosts a drinking contest called "Empty the Mug in One Slug," which Orlan disapproves of but tolerates – Rukhar secretly laces his opponent Randolph's beer with juniper spirits. Behind its cozy exterior, the tavern hides a deeper purpose: it serves as the secret headquarters of the Ring of Water, where meetings are held at irregular intervals and new members are initiated. In a cave near the tavern, Orlan has also hidden a teleporter stone on behalf of the Water Mages and barricaded the entrance. Even the notorious pirate Greg is said to have stayed there – though he only paid rent when pressed repeatedly.
