Gods
The three gods – Innos, Adanos, and Beliar – are the creators and rulers of the world. Innos, the first and supreme, created light and the sun. Since his light shone too brightly for mortal life, he divided himself and created Beliar, the embodiment of night. But the light caused Beliar pain and the eternal struggle between the brothers began. When Adanos, who came into being through another division of Innos, placed himself between them, the world was born at that very spot – a land where order and chaos coexisted. Since then, Innos and Beliar have vied for supremacy while Adanos maintains the balance. Both brothers endowed beings with divine power – Innos chose man, Beliar chose beast – and had them wage war. Adanos ultimately banished his brothers from the world, yet their influence persists through their chosen ones, artifacts, and churches. The Fire Mages and paladins serve Innos, the Water Mages follow Adanos, and the Servants of Beliar – dragons, orcs, demons, and undead – obey the dark god. The war of the gods shaped the world's fate until the hero and Xardas finally banished the influence of all three gods.
