    Speak to Gorn in the living cave and ask about a hut to sleep in. He points at the mercenaries' side where Shrike is hammering in a hut that does not belong to him.

    Go to Shrike and address him. He ignores the polite approach.

    Draw a weapon and knock Shrike down in a fistfight (not lethal).

    Wait until Shrike gets back up, then speak to him again. He grudgingly vacates and moves back to the bandits' side.

    Report back to Gorn that Shrike is out of the hut. Gorn signs off, and the hut is now the hero's. +300 XP.

A bed of one's own in the New Camp is not handed out; it is taken. Gorn points the hero to the mercenaries' side of the living cave where Shrike, a bandit, has squatted in a hut that does not belong to him. Nobody from the bandits' side has bothered chasing him off because Gorn wants the incoming newcomer to do it himself - it is the first real proof of spine the New Camp asks for.
