Y'Berion

Y'Berion is the High Guru of the Brotherhood of the Sleeper and the leader of the Swamp Camp - the man his followers call the Enlightened. He was a simple digger in the Old Camp until, roughly five years before the Barrier fell, a vision of the Sleeper came to him. Together with Cor Kalom he led a handful of diggers out into the swamp, claimed an abandoned temple on a hill and built the Brotherhood around it, convinced that the god dreaming beneath the mountain would bring them all their freedom. He meditates deep inside the temple, emerging only to preach at the square when a stronger vision comes; from there he sends the hero on the first Focus-stone errand after Nyras vanishes, and it is in his hall that the Almanac and the recharged Focus finally come together for the Great Calling. The ritual succeeds in reaching the Sleeper - and reveals the truth. Y'Berion sees the god for what it really is, warns Cor Angar with the last of his voice and dies of the effort shortly after, leaving Angar to hold the Brotherhood together through what comes next.
