Orry

Orry is one of the Old Camp guards posted at the exchange platform, up on the palisade above the abandoned mine. His job is to keep anyone from the New Camp away from the goods the king trades for ore, which also means he is among the first faces every new prisoner sees when the ship drops them on the beach. Unlike most of his colleagues, Orry is friendly about it: he steers newcomers to Diego for the standard briefing, warns them off the bandits at the New Camp (cutthroats, in his opinion), explains the pecking order of Old Camp (ore barons, guards, shadows, diggers) and points anyone looking for their first weapon toward the abandoned mine further up the canyon. He keeps a wary eye on Velaya and the other women the king has been sending in along with the shipments - unsure whether a dungeon back home would have been worse.
