Kalom's Bodyguard

Kalom's Bodyguard is the templar posted in front of Cor Kalom's alchemy laboratory at the Swamp Camp. He stands at the door day and night, sword drawn, and turns away anyone who cannot show cause - deliver harvested swampweed, bring the crawler secret, or carry word from one of the gurus. He warns in the same flat voice every time: any disrespect to his master ends with steel. When Kalom eventually abandons the Brotherhood and marches off toward the Sleeper's Temple, the bodyguard - contrary to everyone's expectations - stays behind at the empty door.
