Jesse

Jesse is a quiet, nervous digger of the Old Camp, friendlier than most of his fellow diggers and less inclined to pick fights than to avoid them. When the hero refuses to pay protection money to Bloodwyn, Jesse warns him that Bloodwyn has paid several diggers including Herek to teach him a lesson - a warning that arrives after Herek has already attacked, but useful for spotting the next enforcer early. In exchange for the tip he asks the hero to cover his own 10-ore tithe to Bloodwyn, arguing that one hand washes the other here in the camp and Bloodwyn had already squeezed him dry.
