Cronos is a Water Mage from Varant who followed the king's call and came to Khorinis to help raise the Barrier, and was caught inside it with the rest of the twelve. As Guardian of the Ore he patrols the great ore pile of the New Camp by day and trades magical scrolls, rings and ore to those who can pay. He manages the order's courier traffic between the camps, handing bandits a water-mage amulet plus a letter for the Fire Mages of the Old Camp (200 ore on delivery), and he gates access to Saturas on the upper level - the password for the stair guards is TETRIANDOCH. He trains mana for any magic-willing student, and pays out a thousand ore from the ore pile itself to the hero who brings back the five focus stones.
