Rega

Rega is a fieldworker at Sekob's farm who just wants to do her work and stay out of trouble. Since the fall of the Barrier, conditions on the farm have become unbearable: bandits roam the area, field raiders destroy the harvest, and the landowner Onar grows ever more ruthless. She fears Onar – if someone displeases him, he sends his mercenaries after them and they simply vanish. She expects no help from the mercenaries themselves, since they surely aren't paid to help small farmers with field raiders. She calls Sekob, her own farmer, a slave driver. Against bandits, the fieldworkers have only one strategy: run. She advises strangers to leave, and dodges questions about the surly Bronko – she doesn't want any trouble.
