Daron

Daron is a Fire Mage from the Monastery of Khorinis who came to the city to collect a valuable Innos statuette sent from the mainland. On his way back to the monastery, he was ambushed near the Dead Harpy tavern by goblins who stole the statuette. Since then he has remained in the city, spending most of his time at the marketplace where he offers spiritual guidance, prayers, and the blessing of Innos to the citizens – naturally only in exchange for an appropriate donation to the church. His notion of a "modest offering" varies considerably depending on the donor's purse. Daron is knowledgeable about the monastery and the path to it, and explains to those interested how to join the order as a novice. He asks the hero to recover the stolen statuette and deliver it to the monastery – generously noting that doing so would, of course, require dedicating the rest of one's life to the service of the monastery.
