Cord

Cord is a former mercenary from the New Camp who followed Lee to the landowner Onar's farm after the fall of the Barrier. As a master of one-handed and two-handed combat, he trains the mercenaries – but only those who have already surpassed beginner level. For farmer problems like wolves and field raiders, he defers to younger mercenaries, keeping himself ready in case the paladins come calling. In secret, Cord belongs to the Ring of Water and watches over the farm and its surroundings for the Water Mages. He worries about his comrade Patrick, who went to the bandit camp and never returned. As part of the mercenary recruitment, he can assign the hero the task of searching for Patrick at the bandit camp as an alternative trial, sparing him Torlof's test. Cord readily explains the differences between one-handed and two-handed weapons and advises training both weapon types alternately.
