The Mercenaries are a group of fighters stationed at Onar's farm outside Khorinis. Their ranks consist of former bandits from the Valley of Mines and hired fighters from the city. They are led by Lee, a former general of King Rhobar II who was banished to the Mining Colony. Joining the Mercenaries gives access to one-handed and two-handed weapon training as well as bow skills. The faction's blacksmith can also teach weapon smithing, including the forging of ore weapons. Mercenary armor is somewhat weaker than that of the Militia, but in return they have access to stronger weapons. The path to the Mercenaries is considerably harder than the Militia route, as you have to fight your way through numerous battles to be accepted. Mercenaries who prove themselves are eventually promoted to Dragon Hunters, an elite unit tasked with tracking down the dragons in the Valley of Mines.
