The Bandit's Arms Dealer
Someone in Khorinis is secretly selling weapons to the bandits. The Water Mage Vatras tasks the hero with investigating the matter after explaining the Ring of Water's goals. He gives the hero an Ore Amulet of the Seeking Will-o'-the-Wisp to help track weapons and sends the hero to Martin, the paladin provisioner in the Harbour District, who suspects the arms dealer is an influential citizen of the Upper Quarter. The investigation leads through multiple bandit camps where evidence can be found: Bandit Daggers bearing initials, an Engraved Ring of the Araxos overseas trading guild, and a delivery note. All evidence points to the merchant Fernando. The hero must decide: let Fernando buy silence, or hand the proof to Martin and see him imprisoned.
Rewards
Option A: 200 gold + Ring of Bark Skin (let Fernando go). Option B: moral justice, Fernando imprisoned (report to Martin and Vatras).
Walkthrough
2. Ask Vatras about the arms dealer to receive the Ore Amulet of the Seeking Will-o'-the-Wisp.
3. Visit Martin in the Harbour District. He suspects the dealer is in the Upper Quarter.
4. Investigate: Ask Bengar about the bandits near his farm (50-250 XP). He points to a nearby bandit camp where Elvrich is held captive (50-250 XP for his information).
5. Search bandit camps for evidence:
- Engraved Ring of the Araxos trading guild (in a bandit's inventory)
- Bandit Daggers bearing the initial "F"
- Delivery note (found in the bandit camp behind Sekob's farm, hint from Balthasar, 50-250 XP)
- Also check the camp near the bridge connecting Akil's farm to the tavern
6. Confront Fernando with a Bandit Dagger (100 XP). He confesses.
7. **Choice A - Let him go:** Give all evidence to Fernando (50-250 XP + 200 gold + Ring of Bark Skin).
8. **Choice B - Arrest him:** Show Martin a Bandit Dagger and the delivery note (200 XP). Optional extra evidence: the Engraved Ring and Fernando's confession. Report to Vatras (200 XP).
9. **Tip:** If you want both this quest and "Fernando's Business", wait until Chapter 3 to turn Fernando in to Martin.
