Saturas

Saturas is the leader of the Water Mages and their spiritual guide. Together with the most powerful mages in the realm, he helped create the Barrier over the Valley of Mines but was trapped within it like all the others. After splitting from the Fire Mages, he founded the New Camp with the general Lee and spent years devising a plan to destroy the Barrier by detonating a massive pile of magical ore. He only reluctantly forgave the hero for draining the ore pile's energy to defeat the Sleeper. After the fall of the Barrier, he led the Water Mages to the Builders' ruins and organized the expedition to Jharkendar, where he directed the study of the ancient civilization. He deciphered the story of Jharkendar's downfall – how the Claw of Beliar corrupted the warlord Rhademes and how Adanos in his wrath sent a great flood. When Raven attempted to breach the temple and seize the Claw, Saturas sent the hero to stop him. After Raven's death, he presented the hero with the captured Claw of Beliar and named him the "Preserver of the Balance." Saturas teaches the circles of magic and, despite his short temper, is a wise and just leader.
