Nefarius

Nefarius is a diligent and inquisitive Water Mage who was one of the twelve mages involved in creating the Barrier and was trapped within it. In the New Camp, he served as the first point of contact for visitors to the mages' quarters. After the fall of the Barrier, he devoted himself to studying the Builders' dimensional portal – deciphering ancient inscriptions and discovering that the portal led to a sealed part of the island that the Builders had deliberately locked away. He tasked the hero and other Ring of Water members with finding the four fragments of the ornament that served as the portal's key. In Jharkendar, he researched the Builders' history and uncovered the truth of their downfall: a civil war sparked by the warlord Quarhodron, corrupted by evil, had reduced the city to ashes until Adanos himself sent a flood. Nefarius teaches the art of rune crafting. On the mainland, he found the tomb of the legendary warrior Haran Ho and deciphered his ancient spell.
