Lothar

Lothar is a paladin of the king, dispatched to Khorinis with Lord Hagen's forces. He is tasked with explaining the city's new laws to newcomers and maintaining security in the lower and upper quarters. A stubborn man with little patience for strangers – when Diego reported the dragons in the Valley of Mines, Lothar had him sent back as a prisoner with the next transport. He likewise warns the hero against spreading "fairy tales about dragons" that might cause panic among the citizens. Lothar readily explains the rules: only citizens may enter the Upper Quarter, only militia members may access the town hall, and anyone accused of a crime must report to Lord Andre. His fate takes a tragic turn when the Seekers murder him from behind – a crime that is pinned on the mercenary blacksmith Bennet and nearly leads to his execution.
