Lord Andre

Lord Andre is a knight who assumed command of the Khorinis militia during the expedition to the Valley of Mines, replacing the incompetent governor Larius. Under his leadership, the militia transformed from a sorry bunch into a proper fighting force. He resides in the barracks and is responsible for law and order in the city – anyone who commits a crime must pay a fine to him. Andre posts bounties on thieves, works to curb the swampweed trade, and seeks to dismantle the thieves' guild. He assigns the militia their tasks: from protecting the farms against bandits and monsters to investigating crimes. Those wishing to join the militia must either be citizens of the city, present a letter of recommendation from quartermaster Martin, or eliminate the thieves' guild on Andre's behalf. After Bennet's arrest for the murder of the paladin Lothar, he demands evidence rather than suspicion and directs the hero with Cornelius' diary straight to Lord Hagen. Before Lord Hagen departs for the Valley of Mines, he transfers full command of the city to Andre.
