Kjorn
Kjorn is a Dragon Hunter and merchant camped in the Valley of Mines alongside Godar, Hokurn, and Kurgan. He sells equipment and supplies to travelers and fellow hunters, and also trades in information at 50 gold pieces per topic – a price he considers fair. His knowledge covers a wide range of subjects: the different types of dragons and their habitats – some that cover the land in ice, others that dwell in swamps or volcanoes; the strategic importance of the Valley of Mines and its magical ore, from which nearly indestructible weapons can be forged; and the surprisingly disciplined warfare of the orcs, who unlike their usual nature are holding back and waiting for something rather than charging recklessly. He is particularly impressed by the orc elite warriors – he once watched one fell a full-grown oak with a single axe blow. Since the fall of the Barrier, the entire valley seems to him like a gathering place for all creatures of Beliar. When the hero reports that all four dragons are dead, Kjorn laughs it off – maybe one, but surely not all of them. After the orc invasion of Khorinis, the surviving humans were transported to the mainland on orc galleys and given a choice between slavery or serving as orc mercenaries – what became of Kjorn is unknown.
