Herold

The Herald of Khorinis is a town crier who proclaims the most important news and decrees of the paladins at the gallows square in the lower city. On Lord Hagen's orders, he calls the populace to order: the forests and wilderness are to be avoided, contact with the rebellious farmers is forbidden, Lord Andre assumes command of the militia, and martial law is declared. He urges the citizens to prepare for a possible orc attack and practice their combat skills. As events unfold, he also announces the conviction and subsequent acquittal of the mercenary blacksmith Bennet, dismisses rumors of dragons in the Valley of Mines as enemy propaganda, and ultimately reports their defeat by brave men under Lord Hagen's command. Incidentally, no executions have taken place at the gallows square for quite some time.
