Gerbrandt

Gerbrandt is an influential and unscrupulous businessman in the Upper Quarter of Khorinis who considers himself the most powerful man in the city. He once worked alongside Diego but betrayed him and arranged for his former partner to be banished to the penal colony. Afterwards he took over Diego's house and lived in wealth for years while Diego fought for survival in the Valley of Mines. He treats strangers with arrogance and condescension, never missing a chance to flaunt his power – most of the workers in the harbor supposedly work for him. But when Diego returned to Khorinis after the fall of the Barrier and had the hero deliver a letter, Gerbrandt's facade crumbled. In a panic, he fled the Upper Quarter and ended up in the run-down harbor district – while Diego claimed his former house.
