Gaan

Gaan is a hunter who works for the farmer Bengar on the Pasture Plateau, keeping the wild animals that threaten the area at bay. For a proper fee, he teaches travelers hunting skills: skinning pelts, hacking claws, pulling teeth, removing bloodfly stingers and wings, and extracting dragon snapper horns. A snorting, dangerous creature – a dragon snapper – roamed the area for days, killing everything in sight, even wolves. He rewards whoever slays it with 30 gold coins. In secret, Gaan belongs to the Ring of Water and in this role watches the entrance to the pass into the Valley of Mines, keeping an eye out for bandits and their arms suppliers. He directs travelers to the herbalist Sagitta in the forest behind Sekob's farm as the best healer outside the city, and warns against straying too far from the paths in the Valley of Mines.
