Baltram

Baltram is a traveling merchant at the Khorinis marketplace who deals primarily in foodstuffs. He sources his goods from the farmer Akil, who has them delivered by courier – though this courier was recently murdered by the thieves' guild. Due to the hard times, Baltram does not shy away from trading with the pirates either: he supplies them with food and receives the finest rum on the island in return. In secret, Baltram is a member of the Ring of Water, keeping watch over the marketplace for the Water Mages. When Lares has to leave the city, Baltram arranges for someone to take over his post at the harbor. He is hostile toward mercenaries and Dragon Hunters, accusing them of inciting the farmers – anyone wanting to trade with him must first deliver ten hams and ten bottles of wine as a peace offering.
